Coffee Hike to Sam’s Knob + Secret Hammock Spot

About the Hike:
This 5 mile hike will lead you to mountain views and one of the prettiest mountain streams I have ever seen - the perfect place to hammock.
This hike is for the person who wants a great, longer hike and wants to enjoy a day in the mountains. I feel that most tours put you in the mindset of “checking off” places but this tour is meant to help you enjoy the area more like a local.
We’ll hike to the summit of a mountain for stunning Parkway views and relax up there for a bit to make coffee together. You can try my locally roasted coffee called "Trail Magic".
We'll sit and enjoy coffee for a while before heading down to a crystal clear mountain creek. Around the creek, we’ll hang up hammocks and enjoy the scenery before hiking back up to our cars. Feel free to bring a book, a podcast, or anything else to enjoy some down time in a pretty place :)
Fitness Level:
Moderate - some uphill climbs but nothing crazy
Trail Conditions:
Mix of gravel trail and dirt. There is a steeper, muddy trail down the side of the waterfall over rocks and roots. You should feel comfortable walking on uneven terrain to enjoy this hike.

What You’ll DO:
- We will meet at the entrance to Pisgah national Forest - about 40 minutes from AVL and you will follow me to the trail head - about 10 minutes from the meeting area
- From there I'll show my my favorite spot to sit by a waterfall and we'll make coffee together with the sound of the falls.
- After that, we'll hike to one of the prettiest waterfalls along a streamside trail, and then head down to the bonus waterfall. It's actually a natural waterslide so if the weather is warm feel free to bring a swim suit - its a super fun swimming spot
- Then it's an easy stroll back to the cars to end our adventure.
